Zoom Integration Guide

Naomi integrates with Zoom to automatically retrieve your cloud recording transcripts and generate communication assessments. No manual pasting required.

Requirements

  • A Naomi account (currently available through private beta).
  • A Zoom Pro, Business, or Enterprise account (Zoom Basic does not support API transcript access).
  • Cloud recording enabled in your Zoom account settings.
  • Audio transcript enabled in your Zoom recording settings.

How to connect

  1. Sign in to Naomi at app.trynaomi.ai
  2. Navigate to Settings using the sidebar
  3. Select the Activity tab
  4. Find the Zoom card and select “Connect”
  5. You will be redirected to Zoom to authorize Naomi
  6. Review the permissions Naomi is requesting and select “Allow”
  7. You will be redirected back to Naomi. The Zoom card will show your connected account

Naomi requests the following permissions from your Zoom account:

  • Read your user profile (display name, email, account type).
  • Read your user settings (to verify cloud recording and transcription are enabled).
  • Read your cloud recordings and transcripts (to retrieve and process meeting transcripts).
  • Access cloud recording metadata (required by Zoom when subscribing to transcript-ready notifications).
  • Read your AI Companion meeting summaries (to enrich assessments with topic and action-item context).

What happens after you connect

When you finish a Zoom meeting with cloud recording enabled, Zoom processes the recording and generates a transcript. When the transcript is ready, Zoom sends a notification to Naomi. Naomi then retrieves the transcript, creates a call record, and runs a full communication assessment automatically.

You can view your assessed calls on the Calls page or the Dashboard.

If your Zoom settings do not have cloud recording or audio transcription enabled, Naomi will display a warning on the Zoom card in Settings with instructions on how to enable them.

Historical import

When you first connect, Naomi can import transcripts from your recent Zoom cloud recordings. This allows you to build your communication profile from existing calls without waiting for new meetings.

Troubleshooting

“Cloud recording not enabled” warning

Go to your Zoom Settings at zoom.us, navigate to Recording, and enable “Cloud recording.” You may also need to enable “Audio transcript” under the same section.

“Zoom Basic account” warning

Zoom Basic (free) accounts do not support API transcript access. Upgrade to Zoom Pro or higher to use automatic transcript retrieval. See Zoom pricing for current plans. You can still use Naomi with a Basic account by pasting transcripts manually through the Analyze Call modal.

Assessment not appearing after a meeting

Zoom can take several minutes to process a recording and generate the transcript. Naomi processes the transcript after Zoom’s notification arrives. If an assessment has not appeared after 15 minutes, check your Zoom recordings page to confirm the recording and transcript were generated.

Connection error

If the Zoom card shows an error state, try disconnecting and reconnecting. Your existing call data is preserved when you disconnect.

How to disconnect

  1. Sign in to Naomi at app.trynaomi.ai
  2. Navigate to Settings using the sidebar
  3. Select the Activity tab
  4. On the Zoom card, select “Disconnect”
  5. Confirm the disconnection

When you disconnect:

  • Naomi immediately deletes your stored Zoom OAuth tokens.
  • Naomi stops receiving notifications about new recordings.
  • Your existing call assessments from Zoom remain in your Naomi account.
  • You can reconnect at any time by following the connection steps above.

To also revoke Naomi’s access from the Zoom side, visit the Zoom App Marketplace at marketplace.zoom.us, go to “Manage” then “Installed Apps,” find Naomi, and select “Uninstall.”

Data handling

Naomi processes your Zoom transcripts to generate communication assessments. Transcripts are sent to the Anthropic Claude API for analysis and the results are stored in your Naomi account. We do not access your Zoom recordings (audio/video files), only the text transcript. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
